Public School Online Store Goes Live

Public school is one of my favorite brands... When I lived in SF it was pretty tough to find in stores. Now that I live in NYC, surprisingly, it's still tough. It's like they're hiding their clothes... well not anymore. Click here to visit the online store. (PRICES ARE DRASTICALLY LOWER THAN ANYWHERE ELSE I'VE SEEN THEIR PRODUCT)

Aziz Ansari: The Randy Documentary

The documentary below is hilarious. Best part is at the 4:25 mark. Randy is a character that Aziz is playing in the new movie "Funny People", opening this weekend.

Download: Eminem - "Warning" (Mariah & Nick Cannon Diss)

Talk about out of nowhere... M&M, clinging to relevance with all his might, comes back at Nick Cannon in retaliation for the ancient history twittering incident. His album was TRASH... so I won't blame you for not clicking here to listen/download. He does ETHER her though...

Late Post: Marbury

Wasn't even going to post this, as it's been shown everywhere from blogs to ESPN...
That was until DNE told me I had to because, "It's a Millionaire on Crack Sweating like an Alligator in the Taj Mahal... crying a deep, soulful cry."

Classic.

eBay - Fake it till You Make It: Balmain Leather Jacket

Part of Balmain's 2009 Fall / winter collection, this jacket features leather with black ribbing and a fur collar, available now at colette for $4908...

The argument could be made, no offense to the people at Balmain, that this jacket is just a fancy version of a Military issued A-2 Flight Jacket, made by Schott. You could purchase the jacket below for $468 thru Schott, netting you roughly $4,400 in savings in comparison to the Balmain Jacket.

Or you could do what I did last winter, and get a Schott A-2 (or G-1) flight jacket on eBay (like the one shown below) for under $50.

Net $ Not Wasted: $4,858.

Sewn in Brooklyn: The Tailor's Tailor

NY Times Reports:
In a career spanning more than three decades, Martin Greenfield has overseen the stitching and the placement of pockets and seams in tens of thousands of garments, making his name as a tailors' tailor. For years he labored behind the scenes to perfect the set of a sleeve or slant of a pocket for the likes of Bill Clinton, Paul Newman and Michael Bloomberg, whose photos line his office walls. Today his cutters, sewers and patternmakers piece together blazers and tailored hoodies for adventurous labels like Band of Outsiders.

Amazing.

Opening this Weekend: "The Cove"

Shot by award-winning former National Geographic photographer Louie Psihoyos, The Cove is a guerrilla-style documentary that captures the mass killing of dolphins each year at Taiji, Wakayama in Japan. The movie is being heralded by critics (it won the Audience Award at Sundance this year) for its combination of stunning visuals and disturbing secret footage—the director has described it as a mix of Jacques Cousteau and James Bond.

The "Emotional Effect" of Insurance Fraud...

They play this commercial all the time on TV in New York. It's hilarious... interesting/bullshit angle to play to prevent white collar crime.

Palin's Resignation: The Edited Version

This is rediculous...
Via VF: If you watched Sarah Palin’s resignation speech, you know one thing: her high-priced speechwriters moved back to the Beltway long ago. Just how poorly constructed was the governor’s holiday-weekend address? We asked V.F.’s red-pencil-wielding executive literary editor, Wayne Lawson, together with representatives from the research and copy departments, to whip it into publishable shape. Here is the colorful result.

Comedy

Went to the Comedy Cellar last night in the West Village...

The opening act was Kyle Grooms, from the Chappelle show. He did a great Barack... found a video of him doing the same bit online.

FREE Saturday

After a Friday night filled with malt liquor and bourbon, we somehow managed to wake up early enough to head over to the 8th annual Adidas Fanatic Soccer tourney at Chelsea Pier...

Ended up being a great decision... weather was beautiful, hot as hell AND Unlimited FREE Heineken, BBQ and Ice Cream.

GB soakin up that humidity on the astroturf.

E.D. was working at the Gansevoort, so after the tourney, I headed over to get some FREE drink tickets for the rooftop bar.

Was like a hot-chicks-with-douchebags convention in there... Everybody was standing on something, and every 30 seconds a Dbag would give out a D-whistle.

Later that night, hooked up E.D.

Mr. Ossa Goes to Hollywood...

My great friend Wyatt Ossa moved to Hollywood a while back to follow his dream of making it to the big screen... He's now completed a pilot and the viewers are going nuts with it on Hulu. Press play to watch and make sure to visit Hulu to leave some positive comments so they can get the pilot picked up. Btw, for those that don't know Wyatt, aka Dub-L-U, he plays the character with the ankle bracelet... he's got talent.

Out of Business - Economy Strikes Again!

Union NYC went out of business today. It's not clear whether the unbelievable staff of assholes that worked there had anything to do with it.

Nort closed last month... always liked this place. They actually just opened up a wherehouse where they sell clothes and kicks for next to nothing, dubbed Brooklyn Wherehouse, across the street from my house.

Stackhouse closed a few months back... that was a great store. Good staff, good stuff, good while it lasted.

Clientele bit the dust too, all their shoes were on consignment... but they had decent gear. They played it smart and opened a store online.

Hopefully Union will be the end of it... if Nom De Guerre goes out of business I'm moving back to SF.

Apartment Hunting in Brooklyn... On a Budget

Checked out an apartment today (we're looking to downsize on rent)... $1600 for a loft in Brooklyn, directly across the street from the world famous Marcy Projects.

Check this guy out...

It was actually a nice place. Outside and inside.

Plus, if we move in, I can finally buy this hat...

and watch this all day.
